Some Inspiration

I thought I would post a few pictures from the show of some awe inspiring layouts.

The photo does not do this one justice, there are multiple layers on this masterpiece.

More later. . . . . . . . . . . .

News from the Show

The show is almost over and I am exhausted. I have ordered lots of exciting and fun products. Some of it will start arriving as early as next week.

I saw a couple of celebrities at the show including Jane Seymour:

Here she is painting:

I also saw Paris Hilton: She is a PIA. I was trying to place an order and I got shoved to the side as all these grown men in suits were chasing her.

Here is a picture of Donna Downey shaking her fist at me :)

I will try to post some photos of some of the awe inspiring projects I saw in the morning. Right now I have to try and get some sleep.

Today in California

Well today was another cold day but at least it stopped raining :) Today I got to play with Copic Markers and I got certified! Rosemary: That means I am certified in Copic Markers NOT certifiable.

I learned quite a bit and am excited to teach this in a class at the store in February. I just need to go and buy a compressor. Yes, the Copic Airbrush is so much fun. The class was taught by Marianne herself. What a talented artist. I have never seen someone color so lifelike with markers before. But, as she says there is nothing like Copic Markers.

I then went to the Creative Imaginations event. They always have a great event; this year is no exception. Their theme was Star Wars and they had lots of people dressed up in costumes. I got to meet Darth Vader and Chewbacca. I have posted a couple of photos of collections

Look at this lovely Collection from Christine Adolph.

and this one
and this is an adorable Easter Collection

Well I have to go get ready I am having dinner with the owner of a delightful new rubber stamp company.

Will write more tomorrow, until then go do something creative and have fun :)

My Day at Stampendous

Today in California it was cold, grey and rainy. But the weather could not dampen my spirits as I was lucky enough to be invited to spend the day at Stampendous. WOOHOO!!!!!

The bus picked us up at the convention center and drove us to their facility.

When I first walked in I noticed that the lobby was painted pink and was warm, fun and inviting. All the employees were wearing Black Pajamas with Pink Polka Dots and Fuzzy Bunny Slippers.
We were treated to breakfast and they gave us a goody bag filled with stuff that we would be using throughout the day.

We used some of the newest Changito Images to make some stationary. We used two colors of Ink, Pink and Black and four colored pencils.

Here is my project with just circles stamped on it.

Here is my project halfway through.

and here are three of the pieces I made. We also made matching envelopes.
Pretty Cool isn't it

We then got to have a tour of their facility.

This is where they trim the rubber stamps using Scroll Saws. Each image is done by hand this way.

This is where they put the Flocking into smaller containers. FLOCKING! Oh MY!! oops better not get started on my flock jokes :)

Here is one of the Stampendous Girls holding one of her projects. Notice her very cute pajamas!

LOOKIE WHAT I WON. Yes, I won a pair of the Pajamas and the Fuzzy Bunny Slippers :)

Well I have to sign off, Blogger is not working well tonight and keeps losing my post so I will have to post the pictures of some of the samples later.

Tomorrow I get to play with Markers!!!

Have a good night everyone

Quick & Easy Banner

I had a few minutes to spare on Friday Night and made the following banner using scraps and leftovers. These banners are cute and can be made quickly for any occasion. I have added details below.

The background paper is made from scraps of Basic Grey glued onto Chipboard. I used the Crop a Dile to make the holes and strung the banner together using gold ribbon.

The Hearts are part of a Maya Road Coaster album which were covered with Music paper and them sprayed with Red Velvet Glimmer Mist. They are popped up. I also popped up the chipboard letters which were were covered in Gold Glitter. I edged the hearts with glitter. A butterfly was cut out using a butterfly Spellbinders die and metal. A spray of flowers was added to the bottom of the "E"

I stamped using a Magenta Stamp on the background paper. The Flourish and the Crown on the center of the Kaiser wood flower are embossed glimmer chips. I sprayed them with a light pink glimmer mist, inked them with chalk inks and then sprayed again using an irridescent spray. Really glimmery up close. I used Chalk ink on the kaiser wood flower.

The last view. I hope that this has inspired you to use up your scraps!!

Classes Coming Up

We have some interesting classes coming up in February. We have classes or something fun going on almost every day. I thought I would Spill the Beans on two of the classes:

Oriental Bento Box

The Bento box is a traditional japanese box but now people don't use them very often. In EDO era, these boxes were used as a container for raw fish or as a lunch box in general. At ceremonies or festivals, people put special dishes into these boxes as gift. So this box used to be one of the tools of the common people. Now these are made by only one factory in Tokyo. They are all handmade. We decided to make our Bento Box as a container for three handmade books. Each book is bound a little differently. Feel free to bring any of your asian stamps to personalise your books.

Enchanted Spring Fairy

Our first Mannequin was so popular that we were asked to do more. We decided to make them for every season, so here is the second fairy in the series: Enchanted Spring Fairy. Made in Pinks and Purples she has an irridescent glow about her.

New Stuff

We have received quite a few new items this week at the store, INCLUDING all the new Glimmer Mist colors. I haven't even left for California yet and we have all the newly released Glimmer Mist on the shelves!!!!! With names like lemon meringue, riptide, sherbert, cherry limeade, dreamsicle, tattered leather, lime twist and more. There are 15 new colors.

Isn't this layout fabulous? This was created by our design team member Melina. She bought cheap lipstick just for this photo and I hear it does not wash off skin too easily!!

Aren't these two new chipboard albums cute. Ollie the owl and a sandcastle. All the stamps in the two photos are also new.

Talking of stamps, next week I am lucky enough to be spending a day at the Stampendous Warehouse/Factory. I will get to see how they make stamps and hopefully use some of the newest Changito images. They are releasing at the show a whole bunch of new Changito stamps. I am so excited to be able to go on the tour, I can't wait!!
