Upcoming Classes and (GASP!) Special Guest Teachers!

OK, so you guys KNOW how excited I get about our classes - and not just because I teach one of them!  (hee hee hee... )  No, I have to say I've been scrapbooking a LONG time (seventeen years, in fact... ouch!)  and I've taken and given a LOT of classes, and I truly think Michelle does an amazing job at keeping our classes current and relevant and making sure we have plenty of exciting celebrity guest teachers to keep our regulars entertained.  Our upcoming schedule is no exception!

This weekend Michelle will be teaching her ever popular Art Journal workshop.  This class teaches art journaling basics and focuses on using lots of different products and techniques to help get art journalers introduced to everything that's out there.  There are three time slots available: Thursday October 25th from 6-8pm and on Saturday from 11-1pm and 3-5pm - you pick the time that works best for you, but call quick because these classes tend to sell out quickly!

Cheryl Mezzetti

Next weekend, Nov 3rd and 4th, Cheryl Mezzetti is back again teaching more awesome Creative Imaginations projects:

The Beautiful You mini album is from 2pm-5pm on November 3rd:

And the Holly Jolly mini book is Sunday, November 4th from 12-3pm:

Of course, these are just the cover shots.  Cheryl always does amazing interior pages, filled with product and techniques.

Kathy Orta

Many, MANY of you have been anxiously awaiting the "Typewriter" class - and it's coming up soon!

On November 10th, Kathy Orta from the popular blog Paper Phenomenon will be here to teach this incredible typewriter box:

This thing is so realistic that people tend to walk right by it, not realizing it's completely handmade!!  There's a little drawer in the back for small cards - SO fantastic!!  The keys are made from tiny spools, and the faux typebars are made from bobby pins - WOW!  There's really not much else to be said about this one...  By it's very nature, this is a lengthy class.  It goes from 10am-1pm, then there is a lunch break, and then class resumes from 3pm-5pm.  The fee is $125.00.

Then on Sunday the 11th at 12pm, Kathy will be teaching this beautiful book which contains two mini books:

This class is normally $65, but if you also took the typewriter class then it is only $50.

Nathalie Kalbach

The first week of December we have ANOTHER exciting guest teacher - Nathalie Kalbach from Germany.  Nathalie operates a very successful art website, n* Studio, and just has Uber-talent...  we're thrilled to have her here.  She's offering four exciting classes:

YAWP Art Journal - $55

December 1st from 11-2pm:

This class blends pan pastels (get it - blends... har har!) with other mediums, including embossing powders and paints.  Of course, she'll teach you some amazing pan pastel techniques as well.

Season Canvas - $55

December 1st, 4pm-8pm

This stunning home decor canvas will teach you how to incorporate texture in your canvas work - use tissue, lace, and burlap among other things to really give your artwork that extra little something special.

Portrait of a Lady - $55

December 2, 11am-2pm

In this class you will bring your own enlarged photo and learn how to turn it into a unique work of art.  Furthermore you will learn a lot of gesso techniques, including how to use it to create a background, to add texture, to stamp, to paint and to use it for altering. You will also learn how to use fun fine art paint media like the Derwent Artbars, how to layer and tie elements together and explore how to change up embellishments and make them fit your unique piece of art. And the best? All the techniques can be used easily in future mixed media and scrapbooking projects.

Be Awesome - Be a Book Nut - $55

December 2, 4-7pm

Dr. Seuss knew it: there is something magic about books. Each book is a beauty in and of itself – a story that leads you into a new world of fantasy. Books also have a feeling of importance to them, such as with a fabric coated hard cover or just the paper itself.
But sometimes a book loses its fascination and ends up at a flea market or at the back of your bookshelf never be opened again. Why not breathe life back into those books again and fill them with your own stories? You can alter them in a way that these treasures bring unique joy back.
Nathalie Kalbach will show you how to create either a funky or a simple style altered book. You will learn beautiful folding techniques, such as ways to create pockets for treasures or hidden messages that go along with your story. You will learn how to use adhesive in unexpected ways and learn fun embossing techniques. Accompanied by beautiful Prima paper, flowers and stamps, this book will be a personal keepsake or a special present to a loved one. What’s more, it can function not only as a mini album but also as a home decor item.

Sorry for the inconvenience but the requested event could not be found on December 2, 2012.
We have SO many fabulous classes coming up - surely there is a little something here for everyone!  As always, we expect our special guest teacher classes to sell out quickly, so make sure you call and reserve your space soon!
