Wendy Vecchi is Circling the Building!

OK, Wendy is probably not circling the building… why do you guys have to get so technical on me??  She’s probably sitting in her studio creating new and wonderful samples to wow us, because of course now that she’s headed this way we are probably the only store on her mind…  we’re sure she can’t WAIT to get here!!!  (And before she asks… Yes, Wendy, YOUR desk is still clean!!!) But she IS almost here and there is only a little time left to reserve your spot!

Wendy, of course, is the designer of our favorite Art Parts from studio 490 and Ranger’s newest Signature Designer… she visited us last year and her classes got rave reviews, so we just had to have her back!

This year Wendy will be teaching two all new classes…

On Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 6:30pm (that’s right ladies – an amazing 8 1/2 hours of techniques galore!) she’s teaching Stained, Stamped, and Stenciled: Art Journaling Studio 490 style:

It’s a great way to spend the day… creating a mixed media art journal, studio 490 style.

We’ll start by creating our own art journal from scratch, using my art parts, plenty of distress inks & stains and loads of studio 490 stamps.

Once the journal is constructed, we’ll embellish the covers with more art parts and we’ll even create a dimensional crayon box for the front cover, using some metal pieces from Blossom Bucket.

After lunch, we’ll have fun creating stained, stamped & stenciled pages for our journal. I have some NEW & very fun techniques to share with you, using lots of Ranger products and my new stencils and embossing paste, on all sorts of surfaces.

I’ll show you a fun technique using tim’s waterbrush, in addition to LOTS of other fun tecnhiques.

Does art journaling scare you because you don’t love your handwriting? NO WORRIES…you’ll have plenty of stamps to choose from. NO Handwriting is needed!

You’ll leave with an awesome art journal that’s loaded with all sorts of inspiration.

Then on Sunday September 8th Wendy will teach a Mixed Media Tag Art Journal class from 10am – 6:30pm… you can expect this class to be literally saturated with all new, all different and all fabulous techniques that will awe and inspire you:

Wendy Vecchi Mixed Media Tag Journal

we’ll start the day by constructing the art journal covers, using my brand new sturdy art parts tags. we’ll embellish the covers with art parts, stamps, stencils, inks and more. you can customize the journal with your choice of colors and stamps.

once the covers are complete, we’ll get started on the tags to fill the journal. each tag will focus on a specific technique. since this is a mixed media technique class, we’ll be using all sorts of fun products, including embossing pastes, my new archival inks, distress inks, stains, markers & paints. we’ll add in plenty of stenciling and stamping and I’ll share lots of fun tips.

you’ll learn how to stamp with water, how to emboss with archival, how to stencil with archival inks and how to transform art parts into faux metal…a REALLY cool technique…and lots more.

you’ll leave with an art journal that’s loaded with awesome art that YOU created!

I hope you can come join the mixed media madness! I’ll bring the craft scrubbies!

ps…rest up..this WILL be an all day jam packed art marathon!
