Classes This Week

This week's classes offer a little something for everyone, starting with Rosemary's Changito class tomorrow night from 6-8pm - this was a class that you, our favorite customers, asked for and she has delivered, as always!  Check out these cute samples:

Friday June 22nd Nancy is hosting a crop from 6-12 - the cost is just $12.  Crops are easy - just pack up some projects you want to work on and come on down for a few hours of fun and light hearted mayhem.  You probably won't get done as much as you'd like, but at least you'll have fun doing it!

On Saturday from 11am - 2pm Tamara is offering our first mixed media canvas class - the Glory Girl canvas.  Read all about here.

On Sunday, our ATC group meets from 2-2:45pm.  ATC's are Artist Trading Cards - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" pieces of artsy goodness created by members of the group.  Each month there is a new theme and each member makes cards with that theme - then they trade the cards with each other; sort of like handmade baseball cards.  They're great fun and so easy to do - and their small size makes them the perfect canvas for trying out new techniques.  Check out these awesome samples from previous months:

Additionally, each month Michelle teaches a quick technique to the group members.  The Artist Trading Club is free, but you must register and come to one meeting before you can join, so members will know to make enough cards to trade with you.

Immediately following the ATC club is the Altered Book Club, from 3-4pm.  The Altered Book club is a group of altered book enthusiests who have started a swap where each member of the group provides a book of their own and picks a theme.  Then each month they trade books and each member of the group does their interpretation of the owner's theme.  At the end of the year, everyone will have worked in everyone else's book and each person will have their own book with 12 layouts of their chosen theme.  There are a  million ways to complete an altered book layout - unfortunately nobody's book was available to snap a quick picture for an example, so here a couple of cute examples we found on line:

It's a lot of fun, but unfortunately because of the trading nature of the group, they are currently unable to include newcomers.  However, interested parties are welcome to come sit in on meetings to see what it's all about and find out whether they'd like to join at the end of the year; you are also welcome to work on your own book and share your pages with the group until the next swap starts.
