Classes this Week...

It's a busy week here at ESS and we've got so many opportunities for you to come out and have some fun!

This is the last call for Jen Starr's classes tomorrow night! 

Jen Starr is here on March 13th with two mixed media classes. Jen Starr is a Mixed Media Artist with a fine art background who has been in the Craft Industry as a Designer and Instructor for over 10 years. Jen has designed several signature product lines and her projects have been featured in many publications in the US and Europe including the “Ink Essentials” book. Jen works with many manufacturers including Ranger, Ten Seconds Studio, Faber Castell, Tattered Angels and Art Anthology.

Artful Anthology Flip Book: 2-5pm $40

This is a fun and creative mixed media 8x8 chipboard mini-book that is sure to get your mojo going! It has a unique trifold design with interactive flipping pages that give each section a gate book effect. You will be working with mists and sparkling paints plus my own line of Dimensional Crystals from Art Anthology to create gorgeous backgrounds and dimensional effects!

Glazed Metal Effects: 6-9pm $45

You will create a unique and gorgeous 8x8 chunky canvas in this fast paced mixed media class...think gift ideas!! The photo samples above are just two possibilities…color choices will be completely up to you and your unique style!

During the artistic process you will learn to take metal art to the next level by adding layers of gorgeous color. You will explore a variety of painting techniques with Ranger's Studio line of Acrylic Paints and learn to use some other multi-surface products to create some extremely COOL effects! We will also focus on Ten Second Studios metal while you master the use of their molds and embossing tools effectively. We'll be embellishing with custom flowers made from Tim Holtz dies and use wire in a way that will truly have your creative juices flowing with all of the possibilities...You'll be amazed at how easy it can be to create stunning artistic effects!!!

On Friday March 15th from 2pm-4pm Michelle is teaching her next Gelli Plate printing class... if you haven't tried this you REALLY need to!  In this class you will learn how to create monoprint backgrounds with a 6x6 Gelli plate - and you get a FREE Gelli plate with the class!  Our customers have been loving this class - check out this fun card created by one of our customers, Annette Dragon:

Then that evening Nancy is teaching on her new altered book class... all I can say is Wow!!!  I'm so jealous I have school that night - I want to come!!!  Check out the vibrant colors and depth of texture on this beautiful book:

On Saturday, March 16th Michelle is teaching her second Urban Graffitti book, which uses an awesome distressing technique.  I can only show sneak peaks on the blog (you can see the complete sample if you come into the store....  :)  In the meantime, try to imagine how she came up with this:



Saturday March 17th is Saint Patrick's Day!!!!

We're planning on a having a Smashing day... which means, of course, that it's time for Smash club again!  The Smash craze is all about no rules, no worries - perfect for scrappers of all levels who love fun and easy creations.  The Smash club is free, but you do need to call and register so that we can prepare enough supplies. 

Just a quick reminder about Dyan Revealey's visit May 11th and 12th... we're getting all kinds of out of town sign ups, so if you're local and wanting to come please don't wait to sign up!  It's looking like her classes will be selling out fairly quickly... you can find out all the information about them on our class calendar. 

Yep, we've got plenty of offerings this week, so make sure you to tell everyone you have an out of town emergency, then come on in and get your scrap on!!!
